Here is a better view of a parent great egret feeding one of eir babies up in the swaying pines this time last year (to make up for the fact they're more obscured by needles and branches around their nests this year in the previous post). 2/2

Photo of an adult egret feeding one of eir babies while another waits open-mouthed behind em in the nest. The parent is standing with eir back to the camera, head canted right, bill open and disappearing behind the head of eir baby, whose own bill is wide open and seems to be swallowing eir parent. The babies are splotchy with bare patches and new feathers, the sunlight glinting off the raggedly fuzzy crown of the little one feeding.
