Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a retro FPS set in the Warhammer 40k universe. It feels like Doom-meets-Warhammer-with-mouseaim. It was added to XBGP this month, and so I decided to give it a shot.
Pun intended.
I think for someone who loves Warhammer, it would be awesome. However, I'm not a Warhammer girl, so clanking around in the armor, and killing everyone for Warhammer reasons just doesn't resonate with me.
In terms of gameplay, it's an OK retro FPS. The titular boltgun IS kind of fun, dealing high-speed accurate death to mobs half a map away, but it doesn't feel like enough to carry me through the whole game.

I guess #Warhammer40K #Boltgun is alright. It feels hefty, guns feel good… but it’s level design isn’t particularly good and there are some heavy framedrops on #Xbox.
More so, boomer shooters kind of all feel the same.
#Boltgun is coming to Gamepass. Means I can finally take it off my Steam wishlist. It's almost the definition of one of those games that I want to try...but don't want to commit to buying.
And just like that, #Boltgun has come to an end. Utterly fantastic game that really did bring back memories of the old days, but also completely modern at the same time.
If you're in the mood to shoot a lot, a LOT, of stuff and want a good challenge, you should pick it up. Today is the last day to get it for $14 and change! #steam
Actually already several hours into Warhammer 40k: #Boltgun. Doom inspired, but also shades of Destiny, Serious Sam, and others.
I haven’t played a lot released in 2023, but this feels so far like my second favorite behind Hi-Fi Rush.

Picked up Boltgun on the #Steam Summer Sale to play on my #SteamDeck and with a few tweaks, it runs really well! Definitely worth the purchase.

Like everybody and their mum I played Boltgun for a bit.
I had fun, but single player games just don't get me hooked for longer than one or two days.
Still, great game.
And a very unhelpful, horrible little servo skull to accompany the protagonist. 
Since I liked it, I drew a similar servo skull.
I may not always like the games that come out of the Warhammer 40K universe, they tend to be all over the place, but #Warhammer40000 #Boltgun is a hella good time. Retro FPS action with a brutal melee chainsword attack and splatter aplenty. Worth a look!
Tried playing the new #warhammer game called #boltgun and it is good don't get me wrong but... It made me want to play #Doom 2016 so here I am playing Doom now.
