ScopeBuddy (github.com/HikariKnight/ScopeB) is now in #Bazzite stable, this lets you use "scb -- %command%" or "scopebuddy -- %command%" to let scopebuddy manage env vars, gamescope args and game launch options using config files.
It also fixes the Steam Overlay and SteamInput when using gamescope on the desktop and also works inside gamemode!

Almost ready to wipe my Tumbleweed laptop and start fresh again. Currently leaning towards Bazzite for more stability, easier/supported app installs, and official Framework support. Wondering about app freshness on Bazzite though.

I do need to look more into atomic distros vs rolling (EndeavourOS is also on the table), and how much RedHat controls the Fedora project.

So Microsoft is preparing an Xbox-compatible Handled. This is weak.

Remember, this device UX will be crap, and its only value proposition will be as a #Bazzite powered device so Steam gains more marketshare. And I'm all for it.

Wake me up when they kill their Microsoft Store and their APPX for good.

Windows Central · EXCLUSIVE: Xbox's new hardware plans begin with a gaming handheld set for later this year, with full next-gen consoles targeting 2027By Jez Corden

I'm actually getting frustrated with running a rolling release; Tumbleweed has had a lot of problems over the last few weeks: graphical login screen crashing to console when I move the mouse, Wayland + KDE Plasma 6 hanging during login just before showing the desktop, CapsLock being locked on when I wake the laptop from sleep.

Bazzite's right there, and Fedora is officially supported on Framework. 🤔

Update on the setup!
I gave 200GB of space and trimmed the Windows partition to create a shared "Games" partition between the two of them.

I installed a brtfs driver for Windows so it can identify the Games partition.

It seems to be working well from the Linux-side. Will keep an eye out on how Steam on Windows works with it.

If all goes well, I'll be trimming down both Windows and Bazzite to give the Games folder more space :acnh_joy: :ACNH_Love:

tl;dr ➡️ Final Fantasy VII Rebirth gets a seriously reduced install size for Steam Deck users, cutting it from 144GB down to 88GB. The game simply doesn't need 4K textures and QHD cutscene videos on a device like the Deck.

BONUS: I verified that #Bazzite users on handhelds like the Legion Go S also get the reduced size.

ForbesSteam Deck Users Get A Welcome 'Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth' UpdateSquare Enix taps into an awesome Steam feature that more developers need to use for the millions of Steam Deck users out there.

I really want to get a new controller for my linux gaming PC running Bazzite and docked Steam Deck play. I bought one of the cheap PXN controllers and was pretty impressed with it, but the right trigger was stuck in the hair trigger mode. I ended up returning it to Amazon. I was thinking of spending a little more on a Cyclone 2 from Gamesir.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'd like gyro and back buttons (like the Steam Deck).
