The ability to play background sounds right from #iOS18 is a game changer for me. I spent nine hours on public transport today and thanks to some artificial rain, I was (almost) unbothered by chanting football fans, chatting friend groups, and families with children 🕊️

(Also, do I want to know what “brown noise” is?)

Oh hot DAMN, I think the #iOS timer app might finally get the ability to set a timer for a specific time, and just figure out the math to make it happen

This is at least on #iOS 18.2 public beta 2

A little while ago, I tried telling my Watch to "set a timer for 7:10pm." And it just figured it out, and set a timer for about 11 minutes and 30+ seconds

FINALLY #iOS18 #Apple

Y'all! Apple introduced code into iOS 18.1 which reboots the device if it has not been unlocked for a period of time, reverting it to a state which improves the security of iPhones overall and is making it harder for police to break into the devices, according to multiple iPhone security experts.

Chris Wade, the founder of mobile analysis company Corellium, told 404 Media that after the fourth day of a device being in a locked state, the device reboots.

This is brilliant. I mean, I'm sure it was implemented to help with stolen phones not being hacked...but the fact that it stops spyware companies and cops from accessing your phone for about as long as it might take to get a search warrant? *chef's kiss*

404 Media · Apple Quietly Introduced iPhone Reboot Code Which is Locking Out CopsOn Thursday 404 Media reported that police were freaking out about mysteriously rebooting iPhones. Now multiple experts have found that Apple introduced code that reboots locked phones after a period of time.

I cannot BELIEVE that since they released voicemail transcription in iOS 10 (8 years ago?!!), it seems that it is STILL incapable of transcribing anything other than English?!

WTF Apple?
