Day ten cont 🚨👮‍♂️🧑‍⚖️

“We have hit a tipping point where the civil rights of an #individual need to be put aside for the #CivilRights of a #community. When a community doesn’t feel #safe, you have to act and you have to make sure there’s a #deterrent and a #consequence.

In my home state again [#Queensland], I would encourage every state to do this, we’re going back to #outback camps where we are rebuilding these young people with a life #skill. Not putting them behind barbed wire but sending them to remote places, giving them a skill and #purpose in life.” — David Littleproud

The National leadership is roaring to the press.

How to Remember What You Read via from Brain Food [Shared]

It happens all the time. You read an amazing book, one so packed with wisdom that you think it’s going to change your life forever. Then…it doesn’t. Why? Because when you’re finally in a situation where you could use its insights, you’ve completely forgotten them. Time is our most valuable resource, so we shouldn’t waste it. The investment we make in reading should have a positive, lasting impact on our lives.

Consuming information is not the same as acquiring knowledge. No idea could be further from the truth.

If a task (like accounting) can be codified to a set of fixed rules, then it should be automated, because computers are better than us in memory. I do agree that one should look at #AI (ie. not rule-based) outputs critically, because memory recall does not translate into performance in unknown situations, but I do have doubts whether the failure to do so can be simply framed as "#skill erosion."
