New Risk of Rain 2 DLC has been teased.
My thoughts: Survivors of the Void was already a flawed DLC that overstuffed a previously "perfect" game with too many pickups and some annoying insta-kill enemies, although it added two pretty cool survivors. I'm not sure adding more on top of that will improve the game at all.
It doesn't help to see it's developed by Gearbox Software instead of Hopoo Games. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

I was waiting for the DLC to be available on console before purchasing the game... because I didn't want to be missing out on the content.
Didn't occur to me that more content could actually detract from the experience.
@Arindam To be clear, I'm not saying Survivors of the Void is bad, just flawed. There's still fun to be had. I'm just thankful that you can choose to enable or disable the DLC when you go to start a run, so you can decide whether you want a more balanced game or more content run by run.
Hopefully this new DLC does the same. I also hope it's good! 
As for whether to wait: I'd honestly recommend playing the base game first. You'd be more prepared for the extra challenge the DLC adds.
Well... that was a crazy experience.
Purchased Risk of Rain 2 this morning and decided to try it out on my Series X. A few hours later and I'm still recovering.
That fluid mix of zen-like exploration and intense, frenetic combat... is quite unlike anything I've played.
Had about a dozen runs with the Commando.

If you get to a point where you feel like you're no longer unlocking things, I'd recommend checking out the wiki. There's plenty of things I would not have unlocked (or even known was a feature) without consulting it.
Just make sure to use an adblocker before doing so. Fandom is basically unusable without one.
