Badass Britt :mastodon_lgbt:

I’m going to attempt to start something fun/silly…

What’s your ?

I think mine began circa 2007:

I worked at the Apple Store as a teacher and a customer purchased me an item as a gift because they appreciated my classes.

Wait for it:

My boss took their money, then after the customer left they took the item from me and placed it back on the shelf and said, “we are not allowed to receive gifts.”

Yeahhhhhhh, that actually happened.

@britt I definitely have one but...it's kind of a bummer!

But I totally want to be a supervillain. Best wardrobe ever.

@MsSammieRose now we know why I am the way I am 😆😆🤗🤗

@britt I was informed that I would have to work on a weekend in December even though I normally worked Monday-Friday.

Not asked to work a weekend shift. I was told that I would work a weekend.

When I told them I was going out of town that weekend on a trip I'd planned six months in advance, they had the audacity to tell me I should've asked for vacation time in advance. For a weekend. Then they said they'd make an exception and "allow" me to work on a different weekend that month to make up for it.

So anyway I started looking for a new job immediately. And I made sure that as many people as possible knew exactly why I was leaving. And that's my #VillainOriginStory.

@britt 🤯 Wow!
My Villain Origin Story is where I became the villain when I joined a firm writing finance software for banks as a stop gap to get work, but ended up being stuck , sorry stayed there for 13 years. I feed my family using Capitalist money earnt through the poor peoples investments (I.E Their pensions and savings). 😊

@luny is it any consolidation that I worked for a major bank for 5 years before going off work?

I felt so slimy.

@britt I feel like I'm not alone anymore 😆
Funny, working where I work puts me off work too. (Sorry, terrible joke, I understand your true meaning.)

@britt Grade 5, assigned math homework the night prior, included a "take home test" a few pages ahead in our workbook.
I was an A student, loved school. Did the assignment, forgot the test portion.
Teacher was walking the aisles checking everyone's work, and when I told her I forgot to do the test she reamed me out in front of everyone. I almost cried. School was no longer important, no effort was made again. Grades dropped, I'd skip classes in HS constantly.
I'll never forget that day.

@britt OMG!

And LOL I've got so many stories that could qualify for this topic, but let's go with my grad school summer jobs in general, where I basically got to watch the innards of various bits of big-money university academia conduct "business as usual." :ms_swearing:
