Recommendations for a first RPG for a 9 year old? She likes fantasy and reading, so I think she'd like RPGs, but she also (1) likes games very easy, (2) dislikes pixel art, and (3) dislikes being forced to be male.
I'm thinking either Pokemon Shinning Pearl or Destiny Connect: Tick Tock Travelers.
@scribblemacher Wintermore Tactics Club is a super fun turn-based tactical rpg for pretty much all ages. It has a black, female protagonist; a diverse cast; a community-centering story; and great accessibility features (at any point in the game you can adjust your team's hp, enemy hp, and a few other things, so the challenge is just right for your needs). D&D-style game within the game. Great art and music as well.
