Unfortunately, cases and hospitalizatios of <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/COVID" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>COVID</span></a> are going up.</p><p>I'm going to be pissed if we have a full-blown Spring <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/COVID19" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>COVID19</span></a> wave and I have to start moving karaoke online, after months of not singing in person to avoid spreading <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/influenza" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>influenza</span></a> and <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/RSVirus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RSVirus</span></a>! </p><p>While there are meaningful numbers of people being hospitalized for airborne diseases, I <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/WearAMask" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WearAMask</span></a> in elevators, trains and doctors' offices!</p>

I want to see the ends of these winter waves!</p>

But it's again reported below 1,000 for the week ending February 22.</p><p>Cases of <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/RSVirus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RSVirus</span></a> and the <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/flu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>flu</span></a> are clearly trending down. Let's hope they keep dropping, and don't get revised up too far!</p><p>In combination with the drop in COVID cases, this suggests that overall March will be safer from respiratory infections. It's stil a good idea to <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/WearAMask" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WearAMask</span></a> in crowded spaces !</p>

Fortunately my kid went and I talked to Mom on the phone, and she's stable.</p><p>I was well enough just now to go to the supermarket, where I always <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/WearAMask" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WearAMask</span></a> . On the way, my hairdresser said a lot of people have been canceling due to <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/flu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>flu</span></a> or RSV.</p><p>I heard a cough that sounded exactly like the one I've been making the past couple days.
