A poll on the Crystal Flash.
Here's my case for a new name. The mechanics can be different without breaking expectations. A new game using it should make it less finicky to pull off, but to balance that give the player options to choose how strong the recovery is, how often it can be used. I imagine it would still require the power suit (not Zero), which is tied to the Chozo, so let's try for an avian theme with a mystical bent. Given that it can bring you back from the brink of death, I would suggest Phoenix Rite.
If it could be made automatic, Phoenix Rite could also replace reserve tanks. Reserve tanks, in my opinion, were a way to give the player more energy tanks than could be displayed on the HUD, but they only interfered with Crystal Flash once you knew about it. A more reliable (you filled them, right?), but less powerful recovery option. So, just build that flexibility into one move, but without the bad associations that Concentration has.

@UncannyKyle One of the more annoying parts of having secret techniques like that (before widespread Internet access) was even in the strategy guide I got from Nintendo of America by sending in a proof-of-purchase, the threshold to activate it was inaccurate. The guide claimed you had to be at 29 energy or lower, not 49 or lower. It also didn't mention that you can't move laterally when the power bomb goes off.
