Good morning #Readers, I have a question.
You know how sometimes you wake up with a song stuck in your head? Usually it’ll be something you heard late the night before?
Well this morning I woke up with a book stuck in my head, meaning I woke up reciting sentences from what I was reading yesterday! (Mick Herron’s Spook Street FYI)
This has *never* happened to me before, so it made me wonder if it’s happened to other people.
Has it happened to you? Let me know!
@Sobtanian no books haven't happened to me (because I don't read things out in my head) but I'm pretty sure everything you can hear can get stuck there in ur head with personal experience on a lot of other things and I usually kicks them out by manually hooking a song up there
@joandaro haha nice! Replace them with a song. I like it.
So when you read, don’t you hear it in your head? I do.
I can’t imagine how it would work without hearing it
@Sobtanian well uh I generally read very fast so the voice can't really follow up, sometimes I can hear a phrase or two but I'm two lines after before the voice actually finish a sentence so...
@Sobtanian I know what it's like because sometimes I do hear it when I'm reading English but generally in my mother tongue it can't follow up lol
@joandaro amazing! I’m not a fast reader so I listen to myself
@Sobtanian wait, the sound in your head sounds like yourself reading? That's new to me...
@joandaro yes, it’s my voice reading to me. I’ve always been like this and can’t really imagine any other way.
Even as I type this, I’m reading it in my head to myself in my voice.
@Sobtanian for me it's mostly a neutral voice and sometimes it sounds like the author or the character if I've got an idea on what they sound like. And yes it happens when typing lol
@Sobtanian Usually it's a game or movie.
@Lironah makes sense.
