It's #VGMWednesday? I've played a lot of Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles IV: Turtles in Time on the SNES recently and this track's a banger. I think the arcade version is a little better though so that's the one you're getting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZCTvoihH8g
@bill This track piqued my curiosity enough to learn about Wounded Knee back then... uhh... yeah.
@GamingWolf Yeah... I feel like other level names were available?
@bill Yeah though it turns out it was more of a reference to the book to raise awareness of the whole thing.
(secret bill/claudia video idea?)
@GamingWolf Ah, I see, it's riffing on Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. I don't think that's better, though. What's your source for the raising awareness stuff? To me it feels like a kind of crass and unfortunate level name and maybe they tried to excuse it after the fact. No idea, obviously, I'm learning all this from you now.
@bill Alright, honestly it was a surface level judgment much like how wikipedia is a sleight of hand on information.
I think I'll just have to actually to read a book. (gasp)
@GamingWolf No worries. I just wondered if there might have been a developer interview or something.
@GamingWolf @bill I mean... these games also gave us the "shell shocked" vocal sample because it's alliterative, rather than exploring PTSD.
@JTO_is_Typing @GamingWolf Yeah of course and I'm sure the alliteration was the point but the person naming the level knew they were naming it after a massacre and I'd be curious about the thinking behind that.
@bill hell yeah! The OC Remix crew did a great cover album for this game. Pizza in the Van in particular is a heck of a listen https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR03135
@action_jay Oh that's cool! I hadn't heard that before.
@bill one of my faves!
@action_jay @bill I was going to recommend the arrangement on the Shell Shocked album, but I'm pretty sure you're already aware of it. Also, thanks for the OCR/D&D playlists in the past.
@JTO_is_Typing very welcome! I do enjoy the Shell Shocked album. Very rockin' stuff
