@quester *waves* Welcome!
Baked anything fun recently? (my last thing was a kind of bleh batch of brownies, I've been doing low sugar baking and some recipes are much easier to adapt than others...)
@SRLevine Hi! I haven’t baked anything too recently, mainly just garlic laced breadrolls. But my next venture is to try and rediscover the awesome mudcake recipe I had some years ago but lost.
@quester Is mud cake what we (Americans) call lava cake where the inside is still liquid?
@SRLevine I think so. I was really surprised that it’s mudcake only in Sweden and Finland! But I do believe lava cake is close to what we make
@quester Welcome! Looking forward to your recipes and photos!
@anne Thanks! I’ll be sure to include recipes to the food stuff I’ve made
@quester What does "specializing in cafe work" mean, in terms of food items?
@anne In Finland, when you study hospitality, you can specialise in different areas of restaurant work, like a la carte, buffet and lunch service, cafe and snacks, fast food etc. I fell in love with cafe work and am currently working at a campus restaurant, where we serve a lunch buffet, coffee, sandwiches and pastries. I love it because you also get to interact with customers.
@quester welcome!! It's always a pleasure to have new folks and new perspectives out here! What sort of games have you been playing lately? I'm so stoked to have other pinball fans on here? What machines you like? I'm a huge fan of Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Star Trek TNG and really any pinball I can get my hands on! Anywhere, welcome once again!
@Bogusmeatfactory Hi there! If we’re talking solely pinball machines, my favorites include Monster Bash, Frontier, definitely also Attack from Mars, Stellar Wars, Jackbot (more for sentimental reasons, it was the first game I was taught to play), Buck Rogers, Mousin’ Around and oh of course Star Trek TNG, but I will gladly play other Str Trek machines, too. I do enjoy newer Sterns, but there’s something a bit more fun about older games still.
@quester Nice!!! Yeah the modern Sterns can be a mixed bag. Sometimes they are a bit ramp heavy and don't have that fun gimmick that stands out. Overall they've been nice, but I love some of the simplicity of the old tables and the quirky Novelty of the early/mid 90s tables. Hooray for more pinball folks on Mastodon!!
@Bogusmeatfactory Exactly, games don’t need to be complex or very rule/mode heavy to be fun.
