The weekend came and went. The is on the right path to a happy medium fans & players can be excited for. The first-to-fourty, single elimination tournament is the right way to showcase the league's best talent. Games do not drag on to 100+ points where players & fans get bored.

The player selection process needs some work. IMHO, the player draft by the appointed GMs from Inside The NBA felt scripted. When the hosts declared that they're picking international, young, and "OGs", at that point, why not just announce the rosters as "Team Chuck, etc..."? I wasn't a fan of the dramatization of the all-star player draft. Shaq couldn't draft Giannis b/c he was going to be appointed by Chuck--there was no competition amongst the hosts/honourary GMs.

I'm 98.9% certain the NBA is watching the NHL's 4 Nations tournament and picking the parts that best work for them (NBA). The NBA will continue to confine the All-Star festivities to a weekend (Fri-Sun). I don't think the NBA wants their ASGs to extend beyond Sunday--that cuts into teams gearing up to qualify for Play-In & chase for premium bracket positions for the Playoffs.

I would like to see more WNBA & NBA participation. It sucks that the Steph/Sabrina 3pt shootout was a one-off.

Since nothing is off the table, why not have a WNBAxNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night and the NBA All-Star game proper on Sunday night? Have Saturday be a WNBAxNBA night where the best players from both leagues are showcased in skills competition & a friendly match?
