I’ve actively been trying do these things to help improve my overall wellbeing and it’s been helping:
- Setting boundaries with myself for email/social media and the pressure from the wants/needs of others.
- Creating extra friction in areas where I don’t want to be doing something (ex: doom scrolling: hiding my social media apps in a folder on page 3, for example.)
- Creating less friction in areas of my life that help me feel more present, more happy, and more alive (ex: reading: got an e-reader to read more offline content, away from my phone/computer.)
These are just a few examples, I’ve made about a dozen changes.
I’m feelings much more balanced now. I feel like I can better manage my days, whatever they may bring. I am making healthier choices in my digital life and offline life.
Yay. #SelfCare #MentalHealth
@britt All of these are great changes; I’m glad you’re being firm with your boundaries and being gentle to yourself via self care!
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds thank you!! It’s taken a lot of work to admit I need to work on all of this, but it’s definitely been worth it.
@britt You’re welcome! Any worthwhile change will be an effort; it’s hard to confront ourselves in a way which is therapeutic and will promote positive outcomes. Enjoy the balance of the mind you’re cultivating.
