With so many tight matches, it’s going to take us a day to put together the traditional Victory Parade. Please feel free to celebrate (or mourn) and we’ll see you tomorrow.

Have ideas on what went well or what we can do better? Please fill out our post-game survey! mineralcup.org/2023/campaigns/

Curious about the people behind #MinCup23? Here’s this year’s volunteers: mineralcup.org/2023-volunteers

Congratulations, #Zircon! Condolences, #Perovskite, and better luck next year!

Mineral CupPlayer Survey — Mineral CupThis was our first time self-hosting Mineral Cup. It involved a lot of changes and a lot of experiments. We’d love to get your feedback on what worked, what didn’t, and ideas on what to do differently. We’d also like a better idea of who our players are (and how that’s changed) and where to find the

That was an impressive match with clear Get Out The Vote efforts from both teams, particularly in the final hours where we saw it flip several times.

We are in awe, and want to recognize your efforts at entertainment, education, and enthusiasm. Thank you for making #MinCup23 so much fun!

Q: Are you sure #MinCup23 isn’t being swamped by bots or ballot-stuffing?!

A: We’re monitoring incoming votes and know exactly why the tides are turning. It’s very enthusiastic electioneering efforts.

Want to flip the vote? Find more players! Both these minerals have what it takes to win

Voted for #perovskite because #zircon has an early, fast lead and at this point everyone is singing its praises. Pffft.

Anyway this #MinCup23 has been fun but I think I will pick a different criteria to vote on next year. 🤣 too many minerals don't fit "chaos" (by my admittedly somewhat arbitrary definition, but hey, aren't we all using somewhat arbitrary scales in the end? 🤣🤣)!

Also may perovskite win!!

No denying the coolness of the possibility of perovskite being formed in a Brown Dwarf, but the role of zircon in geochronology, setting time scales for 4.4 billion years wins it my physics vote.

And of the two, zircon gets the art vote for jewellery, gems and sometimes as an opacifier in ceramics. #MinCup23
