Am 4. April 2025 eröffnete die Wertheim Arts Galerie die Ausstellung „Struktur-Natur“ von Horst Schulzendorff. Gezeigt werden über 15 Werke, inspiriert von Natur und Fundstücken, kombiniert mit Bitumen, Acryl, Erde, Sand u.v.m. Auch seine Frau Rosi zeigt drei Arbeiten. Der Erlös geht an Kinderliebe e.V. Am 01.04.2025 nahm das KulturForum Kaarst e.V. an der Spendenübergabe der Sparkasse Neuss teil – kein Aprilscherz, sondern eine erfreuliche Förderung aus dem PS-Zweckertrag. In der Wertheim Arts Galerie von Rena und Monica Wertheim fand eine Benefiz-Verkaufsaktion statt – mit kreativen Bildern ukrainischer Kinder. Der Erlös ging an den Deutsch-Ukrainischen Verein Blau Gelbes Kreuz e.V., der sich seit dem Beginn des Krieges für eine freie, demokratische Ukraine und humanitäre Hilfe für die Kriegsopfer einsetzt. 32 Kinderbilder wurden verkauft, der Preis pro Bild lag bei 30€.

Altbot™ Roadmap: What's Coming in 2025
Hello Fediverse friends! I'm Micr0, the creator of Altbot™ - a Fediverse bot that helps make social media more accessible by automatically generating alt-text descriptions for images and videos for people with visual impairments.
I wanted to share my exciting development plans in the coming months. Your feedback and support have been incredible, and I'm working hard to make Altbot™ even more helpful for everyone.

- More Languages: Adding language support without message translations
- Better Reminders: Making the system more helpful and less intrusive
- Help Documentation: Creating a GitHub wiki with resources on using Altbot™ effectively
Version 2.2 - Audio Understanding
- Local Speech Recognition: Integrating a local model like Whisper to process speech in audio and videos
- Enhanced Media Understanding: Providing audio transcripts to the Ovis model alongside video frames for more comprehensive alt-text
Version 2.3 - Fediverse Integration
I'm thrilled to announce my first official partnerships with Fediverse instances! I'll be developing an API with direct integrations into Fediverse software, starting with:
- Chuckya (mastodon) integration for fuzzies.wtf and wetdry.world
- Sharkey (misskey) integration with plasmatrap.com
These integrations will make alt-text generation seamless for users on these instances, with more partnerships planned in the future. And anyone will be able to host their own Altbot™ for their instance as well of course :)
The speed of these releases depends on several factors: my personal motivation, support from the community, and my workload. Your encouragement, feedback, and Ko-fi support all help keep this project moving forward!

Wir arbeiten gerade an den letzten Korrekturen unserer Broschüre. Bis Anfang April sollt das Jahresprogramm druckfrisch vorliegen. I was wondering... I know there is an account that follows instances to check for Alt texts in the user's toots on them.
These days, I use altbot a lot, as my hands are sore, and my brain a bit fuzzy at times, so the bot helps me to add a good text.
But, I first share my Toot without Alt text, and then I edit the Toot to add alt texts.
Does that site that checks for Alt texts takes these edits in account? As the Toot eventually has the Alt texts, just not when whey are shared the first time... 
I don't know how that account works, so I was just wondering if it scans all the toots at a certain moment in time to see if they have Alt texts... Or of it checks the toots when they are shared, so when they don't have the text yet?
Anyone who knows this? Thanks in advance!

@micr0 ich möchte deinen Altbot, den ich auch ein wenig finanziell unterstützt habe, mal ausdrücklich loben. Klar, es wäre immer noch besser die Leute würden es gleich selbst tun und die Beschreibung immer sofort übernehmen, aber du hast es tatsächlich geschafft die Beschreibungen such unbiased zu generieren. Das fiel mir jetzt bei einigen auf. Keine Ahnung ob du das so ausschließt, oder das Modell tatsächlich gut ist. Danke!
AlpiNEum – das Museum für alpine Kulturgeschichte und moderne Kunst ist eine skurrile Kunstgalerie. Seit einigen Jahren ist Christoph Rehlinghaus Betreiber des AlpiNEums - mit vielen bayrischen Utensilien + Kuriositäten und natürlich Kunst. Letztes Wochenende hatte Rehlinghaus eingeladen zur Ausstellung „Das Bio topt“ mit seiner Kunst und der einiger Künstlerkollegen. Alles dreht sich um das Thema „Viecherei und Alpen“. 23./24. I'm micr0, creator of @altbot, the open-source bot that helps generate alt-text for images on the Fediverse to make content more accessible.
What's New in 2.1?
After successfully moving image processing to local hardware with version 2.0, I've now brought video processing capability back - but with a major privacy upgrade! Altbot can now generate descriptions for videos completely locally and privately without sending content to Google or any other third-party services.
Important note: Currently, video processing is visual-only and doesn't include audio transcription. The audio processing Google was doing was some serious black magic fuckery that isn't possible to replicate locally with current technologies. But the visual descriptions are excellent and totally private!
With this update:
- All processing happens locally with zero data retention
- Complete privacy for all content
- No data used for training models
- Videos processed with the same privacy standards as images
I've also maintained Altbot's focus on energy efficiency - while video processing naturally requires more resources than images, I've implemented it to be as efficient as possible, keeping power consumption to a minimum while still delivering great results.

Remember that Altbot has always been and remains fully open-source, with self-hosting being a core feature from day one for anyone who wants to run their own instance.

Altbot currently runs on hardware in my home, which means I'm covering all the electricity costs for powering the GPU server that processes your media. While I've designed the system to be energy-efficient, running a dedicated AI server still impacts my monthly power bill.

I've been using Bing for making Alt texts for me, when I struggled with them, but while some are just so well done and better than I could have made them, others are just disappointingly bad.
Or, as happened this night, they get censored! For nothing that should be offensive in any way. Nor was there any copyright 
in friction, as it was about text that I wrote on the image...
I love altbot here, and I've been using it a lot. But I don't wanna spam the Fedi when I need alts for images that I want to share on my blog.
Makes me wish altbot could be a website or an app that could make the texts for you, without you needing to share them to the Fedi...

Gerade wurde mit der Ausstellung „Der Dialog des Betrachtens“ eine Ausstellung von zwei jungen Frauen aus dem Iran, für die Kaarst zur neuen Heimat wurde. Filigrane Stickarbeiten von Zohreh Belak und realistisch-impressionistische Ölgemälde von Ami Ghasempour stehen sich voller Harmonie gegenüber.

So, der Probeaufbau vom Hochbett war weitgehend erfolgreich, nur ein paar Kleinigkeiten haben nicht ganz wie erhofft funktioniert. Ein paar Verluste gab es auch - nächstes Mal doch lieber etwas größer vorbohren. Jetzt alles wieder auseinander und dann Kanten abrunden, schleifen und ölen.
