Recommendations for a first RPG for a 9 year old? She likes fantasy and reading, so I think she'd like RPGs, but she also (1) likes games very easy, (2) dislikes pixel art, and (3) dislikes being forced to be male.

I'm thinking either Pokemon Shinning Pearl or Destiny Connect: Tick Tock Travelers.

@scribblemacher Pokémon shining pearl and Pokémon Lets go Eevee are great choices. Although? I would argue that BDSP’s elite four is one of the hardest NPCs of the whole series. It might be too difficult unless you teach her how to prepare competitive Pokémon (EVs, IV, nature).
I would say Let’s Go is more casual and “cuter” graphics

@Cyborg good to know about the elite four. I haven't played much Pokemon, so good to know this is one of the harder. My daughter did play a bit of yellow a few years ago. She caught NO Pokemon and tried to beast through with just Pikachu. I think she beat Brock... Somehow
